Here are the simple rules you must follow while using the ChibiIRC network. All users connecting the network are bound to these rules. If you have a question, e-mail support@chibipaws.net.
Depending on the channel you are on, you may have to follow additional rules. For example, you must follow all rules from the ChibiPaws Site Rules in the ChibiPaws chat.
General Rules
- Staff have the final decision regarding any issue. You should not get involved involved in any issue the staff are already working to resolve.
- Respect the staff, their decisions, and other users. (especially the staff!) In other words, treat others the way you wish to be treated.
- English only.
- Do not use excessive caps. Simple. Let’s keep it that way.
- Do not flood or spam any channel within the network. This means no “pointless annoying messages” and no need to repeat the same question over and over again.
- Do not repeat yourself over and over again. (the protection bot will kick you if you do!)
- Avoid using chat speak at all costs. We cannot understand chat speak, therefore we cannot help you nor keep the network safe.
- No drama is allowed AT ALL. Any form of drama will result in a one-hour ban from the network. This includes all users taking part.
- For all ChibiPaws site users, ALL site rules apply. These rules also apply to all users in #ChibiPaws. And repeated offenders MAY GET WARNED ON SITE!!
Drama
- Drama is arguing with any one member (or any group of members) for any length of time. Drama is basically arguing a ban/kick. Drama is arguing a ban/kick that did not involve you personally (were you banned or kicked?). Drama is making others feel uncomfortable to be in the room any longer.
- Arguing with ops/half-ops about a decision they made regarding the room will result in a kick/ban from the channel the argument took place in.
- If you’re not an Op or Half-op, please refrain from trying to “help”. It often results in unneeded drama and it’s the Ops and Half-Op’s job to keep order. Backseat moderating can and will result in an immediate kick/ban from the channel.
Bots (only applies to the main channel, or #chibipaws)
- You have to ask Jarrod or an IRCOp if your bot can be allowed in the channel. Unauthorized bots will be removed if they enter the channel.
- Avoid testing scripts in the channel at all costs.
- You cannot have color-text scripts
- If any script is deemed annoying by Ops/Half-ops, or is complained about to them, it may not be used in #chibipaws once the bot owner is asked to remove it/turn it off.
Consequences
- If you are found to be breaking any of these rules, a moderator, an operator, or a bot will kick you from the chat for some time. After that time is up, you may re-enter the IRC, as long as you follow all rules.
- If you continually break the rules, you will receive a “Forever Ban”. If you receive a “Forever Ban”, you must appeal by contacting our support team at support@chibipaws.net.
